NYSDOT Goes Green with FACS Construction Management System
FACS has been selected as the project control platform for the upcoming Alexander Hamilton Bridge (AHB) retrofit being managed by the New York State Department of Transportation. The project, one of the largest in the state’s history, will break ground this year and is expected to cost in excess of 400 million dollars. "FACS will allow the AHB Project to automate time consuming project management tasks and collect project data in real-time at the jobsite" says Manuel Silva, NYSDOT Construction Area Supervisor.
Belt Parkway – Reconstruction of 7 Bridges
The New York City Department of Transportation has begun the reconstruction of seven bridges and their approaches on the Belt Parkway, over three local streets and four waterways. The FACS system is being used to track a variety of work being done including widening of lanes, the addition of median barriers and super-elevation of the roadway around curves.
