FACS Press Releases Field Automated Communication Systems Project Controller™ Reduces Duplication, Improves Accuracy on $22 Million Road Widening Project in FloridaSAN FRANCISCO, CA. February, 2011 – Field Automated Communication Systems, LLC (FACS) today announced that its mobile construction project management software, FACS Project Controller, is reducing duplication of efforts, improving accuracy and allowing for greater collaboration of team members on Phase III of the Hillsborough County (Florida) Boyette Road Widening Project. The Boyette Road Widening Project was divided into three Phases, Phase I & II are complete. Phase III roadway construction was started in August, 2010 and will cost $22,373,614.00. Boyette Road is a two lane road containing a mixture of commercial and residential uses. Due to the increase of residents into the area and due to continued development along the corridor, Boyette Road has become congested resulting in traffic delays. The segment from McMullen Road to Bell Shoals Road is being widened from the existing two lane road to a four lane divided highway with varied landscaped medians. It will also include bike lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road as well as bus bays where appropriate. The project is estimated to be completed in February, 2014. “We chose FACS in a proactive effort to improve overall project efficiencies,” said Jon-Paul Lavandeira, Project Controls and Scheduler for Hillsborough County Public Works. “Our goal is to reduce duplicative efforts, increase accuracy, and enhance the interface between the County and Private Contractors.
