Field Automated Communication Systems
Awarded Mega Roadway Project in Utah
San Francisco, Calif. (June 2010) – It will change the way people commute into the Salt Lake
Valley. The state of Utah won't see a project like it in the next decade. The Mountain View
Corridor, a $750 million dollar roadway mega-project, is officially underway. Recognizing the
successful delivery of a project of this complexity would require industrial strength project
management tools, Field Automated Communications Systems (FACS) has been selected as the project
control platform by the Mountain Corridor project team leaders.
FACS will provide a central collaboration system across the contractor, engineering and
UDOT organizations standardizing and automating project management tasks. Additionally,
the FACS software will be a key part of both a green initiative to reduce fuel and paper costs as
well as to eliminate paper based delays increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the
project teams.
Field Inspectors will be equipped with ruggedized PC tablets running the FACS Anywhere™
software which features an offline mode allowing inspectors to work uninterrupted when no
cellular signal is available. "Implementing the web-based FACS project controls system will
provide all project team members with access to the most up-to-date project data whenever and
wherever they need" says Daryn Reif CEO of FACS.
“By implementing the Web-based FACS Solutions, NYSDOT is empowering all project team members to collaborate and access the entire archive of project data seamlessly, wherever and whenever they need it,” said Daryn Reif, CEO of FACS. Additionally, FACS Solutions will be a key part of both a green initiative to reduce fuel and paper costs as well as an initiative to eliminate paper-based delays, something that all Departments of Transportation have been tasked with achieving.
